Building Up

Sometimes, the only place you can go is up. If that’s the case, we’ll take a careful look at your existing foundation and come up with a solution that’s practical, safe, and attractive.

With the Hancock Park residence pictured below, we helped the owners add an office space adjacent to their master bedroom. We removed the shed roof over the living room and built a new foundation under this portion of the first floor. Then we added a structural beam to carry the load of this new room.

On the Garvanza Park residence below, we added a master suite on this 100 year old Craftsman home. Part of the existing foundation was demolished and replaced with a two-story foundation. The first floor walls were reinforced with shear walls and hold-downs.
